L’ Angelo Caduto (1993)
Choreographed by Massimo Agostinelli (Canada) and directed by Katrina McPherson (Scotland), this short silent screendance was designed to be screened as part of a live performance of Massimo's choreography, presented in Montreal in 1993.
Premiered in Montreal in 1993, as part of a live performance work also choreographed by Agostinelli.
The film and live work share the title L' Angelo Caduto (the Fallen Angel, and celebrate and mourn the many wonderful individuals - friends and colleagues - that international dance community, and Massimo and Katrina personally, lost to the AIDS pandemic.
The film was shot in the shabby Georgian splendour of Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms. It was shot on remainders off-cuts of 16 mm film, donated by STV's N.B. culture magazine programme.
