Pace screening at ICA, Saturday 18 April 2026

Pace (1995) is being screened at the ICA in London, as part of the Open City Documentary Festival. It is included in the programme IN FOCUS: ONYEKA IGWE 2 – ACCIDENTAL AESTHETIC TRADITION.

Curated by Onyeka Igwe, this programme reflects on the formative influence of late-night television and experimental film culture on Igwe’s filmmaking language. Katrina will join Onyeka and the directors of other films in the curated programme for a conversation after the screening.

Pace was directed by Katrina McPherson, performed by Marisa Zanotti and has an original soundtrack by Philip Jeck. It was commissioned for the BBC /Arts Council of Great Britain’s Dance for the Camera series.

Since first broadcast on BBC2, Pace has been screened at many international festivals, distributed on VHS, DVD and online, been studied and written about, and exhibited at art galleries, including being curated by John Akomfrah as part of the This is Now exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London in 2017.
