  • “Really enjoyed the workshops, it gave me new ideas to think about in relation to making dance for camera. Loved the films we were given to watch and doing the homework tasks to actively think and create about this medium.”

  • “Thank you Katrina. I am grateful to you for sharing your practise, knowledge and understanding of this work. You held the space with generosity, approachability and professionalism. The experience has inspired something new.”

  • “Thank you so much for your time. I have so many thoughts, ideas, and plans for further research based on these workshops, I feel very lucky. I am still fascinated by the use of linear and montage time, and will certainly be exploring this further in my work. Male and Female gaze is one of the concepts I will be researching further, thank you for bringing this to my attention, it was something I had never heard of or thought about. Exciting times ahead. You helped me achieve what I wanted... a technical/ideological understanding of the techniques I was already applying, + even more to explore.”

  • “Katrina was a wonderful leader for the workshop, allowing discussion to lead and flow into her guiding points, information, knowledge and ideas of video dance. The resources via email were super clear and she gave loads of things to explore, read & watch.”

  • “By encouraging me to consider my personal and political motivation for making art, Katrina has helped me to seize the opportunities to reach a wider audience and expand my artistic practice through the medium of screen dance.”

  • “Really valuable tuition from Katrina and insightful, thought-provoking comments from group members.”

  • “Helped me understand the potential of Screendance and its many forms.”

  • “The richness of the information, from the in-depth workshop time with Katrina online to gaining access to Katrina's book and the wealth of a catalogue of screen dance films and also having dedicated tasks to experiment and play make our own findings.”

  • “Katrina's expertise and willingness to engage with us outside of course hours.”

  • “Discussion around material we watched and read.”

  • “I enjoyed the tasks and the links to watch and read about screendance. I also think it was very suitable to find innovative ways to rethink dance in these times.”

  • “Thank you for such a brilliant process and insight into screen dance and film. Thank you for providing such thought provoking and useful resources, alongside being so open to our questions and artistic interests.”
